Scorching Hot Takes leads a live fundraiser in support of Music Venue Trust in collaboration with Futuresound & Monomyth Records.

” The night will open with a short, live panel-style episode of our podcast featuring special guests, focusing on the importance of grassroots venues and the communities built around them, before transitioning into a live gig with @flatmoonband headlining and @glassfrogsband in support. All profits from the event will go directly to @musicvenuetrust.

To make this happen properly, we’ve teamed up with @monomythrecordsuk and @futuresoundlive because they’re two key pillars of the ecosystem we’re celebrating. Monomyth are constantly championing emerging artists and nurturing talent at a grassroots level, while Futuresound are responsible for putting on some of the most important shows in Leeds and giving bands those crucial stages to grow. Working together felt natural – it means the night isn’t just about talking about the scene, but actively bringing together the people who help sustain it.

The aim is for the evening to feel like a genuine celebration of the local ecosystem – creators, artists, promoters and audiences coming together to give something back to the spaces that make all of this possible.

As students who are constantly in these rooms – watching bands, supporting shows, building our platform within this scene – this feels personal. Independent venues have shaped our taste, our friendships and the journey of Scorching Hot Takes itself. This is very much a student-driven initiative created by people actively embedded in the scene, and we hope it reflects the passion, urgency and community spirit that grassroots music thrives on.
